Product Manager – Li-ion Battery Materials

Forge Battery is a wholly owned subsidiary of Forge Nano Inc., a fast-growing materials company with a focus on manufacturing nano-scale coatings across a wide range of markets and Li-Ion Batteries. Forge Battery is seeking a Product Manager reporting to the Director of Product Management.

The Product Manager should be prepared to work in a fast-paced development and prototyping environment. The role requires a detailed oriented individual who is comfortable working with an interdisciplinary team of scientists, technicians, and engineers.

We’re looking for a technically savvy Product Manager with deep insight into the Li-ion battery industry to lead the development and growth of battery-related products and solutions.

Position Summary:

The Product Manager will be responsible for management of Forge's battery products from concept through commercialization, and providing direction based on voice of customer. This includes working closely with customers, sales teams, engineers, and executives to define product requirements, roadmap strategy, and go-to-market initiatives.

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of product management experience in the Li-ion battery industry, coupled with customer-facing experience (e.g., sales, business development, or technical account management). A strong understanding of battery components, materials, and manufacturing processes is essential, as well as familiarity with the global Li-ion battery supply chain. A technical background in materials science, chemistry, or a related field is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the full product lifecycle for battery products—from ideation to launch and beyond.
  • Define product vision, roadmap, and positioning based on customer needs, market trends, and technical capabilities.
  • Serve as the voice of the customer internally, ensuring that product development is aligned with real-world use cases and commercial opportunities.
  • Work closely with Sales and Account Management teams to support customer conversations, demos, and technical validation.
  • Translate technical and market insights into product requirements and user stories.
  • Partner with R&D and prototyping groups, engineering, marketing, and manufacturing to ensure successful product delivery.
  • Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and supply chain mapping to identify new opportunities and strategic gaps.
  • Track and communicate product performance metrics and customer feedback to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Product Manager in the Li-ion battery industry.
  • Strong background in customer-facing roles such as business development, technical sales, or solution engineering.
  • Deep knowledge of Li-ion battery architecture, cell materials, and manufacturing processes.
  • Understanding of the Li-ion battery supply chain from raw materials to pack-level integration.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; technical degree in materials science, chemistry, engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a high-growth or startup environment.
  • Familiarity with coatings, advanced materials, or nanotechnology.
  • MBA or advanced degree in a technical or business field.

Work Environment

Work will occur in an office and in the manufacturing environment. The employee will be required to wear all appropriate safety equipment including but not limited to eye protection, gloves, steel toe shoes, lab coat. Strict adherence to corporate and/or plant policies, rules and regulations in these areas is required. Travel

This role includes 25% travel to support customer engagements alongside account managers and sales representatives, helping to ensure the successful alignment of Forge Nano’s solutions with customer goals.

Compensation/Benefits

  • $125K – 140K
